Fashion is the second largest polluter of the worlds fresh water. So much of this happens when fabrics are printed with toxic dyes. Unfortunately when these fabrics make it to landfills, they contaminate our waters yet again, taking hundreds of years to breakdown. In North America, over 10.5 tons of textile waste are sent to landfills each year. That’s about 30 times as heavy as the Empire State Building.

The solution is to create fabric out of fibers that do not require toxic materials to breakdown. Hemp, bamboo, and eucolyptus are some of the safest plant based materials we have to work with when they are non-GMO organic.

Another solution is to eighty-six fabric dyes that contain chemicals toxic to humans and animals. Sounds simple, yet in the majority of the world, fabric dyes are unregulated by governments, and unsafe practices are used to cut the bottom line for major retailers.
